Apr 01, · I reread this original version of "Footprints Under the Window" and really enjoyed it. The book was later revised in with a completely different story line.
I know I read this book as a kid but I didn't remember anything about it. This is one of the notorious Hardy Boys books (along with Mark on the Door and Hidden Harbor) that includes language bordering on racism/5(5).

I loved these books as a child, and love them more as an adult. Footprints Under the Window BOOK. I thought Footprints Under the Window was a boring Hardy Boys book and I think it is the worst one I have read (comparing it to the other 76 Hardy Boys books I've read) because there is very little action in it.
The original version is better though. The book takes place in Bayport and French Guiana (the first time they leave North America).
